Astigmatism Contact’s Advice?

My eyes having always been irritated when wearing contacts. I just bought the Acuvue Advanced Astigmatism contacts and they feel a little better than the brand I was using before, but my eyes still get irritated quite easily. Eye drops help a little bit, but not significantly. Most of the time when I’m wearing then my eyes go a little red, feel dry and irritated, and are sensitive to light. Any advice? Are daily contacts better? Is there more effective ways to clean the lens?

Can’t See Out Of New Contacts – Astigmatism?

Filed under FAQ on advance for astigmatism
I have astigmatism and am trying to wear contacts. The Dr. gave me oasys for astigmatism and they bother my eyes very badly, feels like something in my eyes, a lot of burning and eye tiredness.
I also can only see clearly a few feet away then everything is off, not really blurry but just not clear. The lens package says -2.50 -0.75 axis 10 (if that helps any) I am wondering if there is another brand/type I can try or if maybe I am one of those people who just can not wear contacts?
Rgp Contact Lenses?

I am doing research on contacts because I want to get them. I’ll be going to the doctor’s soon enough, but I want some knowledge before I do. I’m leaning towards RGP, but I’d like some input.
I’m 13 and turning 14 in 6 months. Besides astigmatism, I do not have any serious eye conditions, weak eye muscles, or excessive redness or irritation. I use the computer 2-3 hours a day.
The biggest reason I want RGP is because it CORRECTS VISION. That is a huggeee plus. However, does it improve vision for /all/ eyes, or at least most?
I do know that RGP lenses can be uncomfortable. Just how uncomfortable are they? Do they actually hurt? Are there ones that are more comfortable, and if not, are there drops available that help a lot? I don’t mind a small awareness, but I’d prefer them not to hurt.
How much can it cost to get a pair of good RGP lenses?
Any other input on the advantages and disadvantages of RGP lenses from wearers, ex-wearers and eye doctors will be great.
Wearing O2 Optix, Borderline Astigmatism, Very Dry Eyes (doc Doesn’t Believe Me) What Do You Recommend?

Well, I had some issues getting into contacts again after having DD and I just went back to try again last Thursday and I mentioned my previous problem about not being able to see but for maybe less than an hour before they got blurry and uncomfortable. I tried O2 Optix last time and this is my second time and I’m still very uncomfortable. I’m positive that I have dry eye because my eyes are constantly dry with or without contacts and it’s really a problem for me. However, my optometrist refuses to even consider the possibility of my having dry eye because of my age (19). He also won’t treat me for the (borderline) astigmatism in my left eye. He thinks I am simply too OCD. I’ve heard about all the problems with OPTIX, but has anyone else had a similar experience, and if so, which brand of lenses did you feel more comfortable with?

A New Contact Lense Wearer?

Filed under FAQ on advance for astigmatism
In about a week, I’m going to be examined for contact lenses. I have astigmatism and I’m a little nervous getting contacts. I’m told I’ll have to get toric contacts and my research has said they are pretty expensive.
I wondered if anyone has any reassuring comments or pointers for me?
Do you actually touch your eyeball when putting the contact in and taking it out? How expensive are contacts? Do you have to get new ones each month?
I’m very nervous and wonder if I should just stick with glasses after all.
