Hi!. Well, these numbers do hot address any astigmatism as all whatsoever. And the numbers do not seem to be written right. Do you mean -3.25 and a -2.50? Rarely do we use 8's in the rx after the decimal point. I is possible to have a -2.87 but extremely rare. You are near sighted and most likely need to wear your glasses full time. I hope this helps a little, but I need m or accurate info to tell you more.

a negative prescription means you are short sighted and need glasses for distance.
an astigmatism in the eye means your eyeball is not a perfect sphere - its roughly more like a rugby ball. it means the eye has different focal points in different merdians. over 80% of people have this.
an astimatic prescription may look like
-2.50 / -2.00 x 76
the first number is the prescription you require in on merdian, the second is the difference in prescription you require in the second meridian merdian. the third is the axis at which the merdians need to be placed for optimal vision.
however. prescriptions only vary by 0.25 each time. so having a -2.80 prescription is impossible. also that would not be the axis as that is between 0 and 180. if an optican prescribed you that - i think you need to check he actually has any relevant qualifications!
your eye sight isnt too bad really - although that will also depend on your age and medical history slightly.
hope that helps!
