Can A Scratched Contact Irritate Your Eyes?

I was looking at my left contact lense cuz it was irritating my eye like hell, and if i take it out, its was soooo much better. i was looking really at it, and i saw two lines, a long line and a short tiny line. I called my eye doctor and he said the long line was just a mark that the contact lense is for astigmatism. I didnt ask him about the little line though, and now im starting to think thats it scratched. could it be that the contact is scratched?

yes, that could be a defect or a split.
when in doubt, try a new lens. if its significantly better…toss the suspect one. although most of the time its your very last one, right? lol
if it is irritating your eye just get new ones and it might be lint or something
