Can’t See Out Of New Contacts – Astigmatism?

I have astigmatism and am trying to wear contacts. The Dr. gave me oasys for astigmatism and they bother my eyes very badly, feels like something in my eyes, a lot of burning and eye tiredness.
I also can only see clearly a few feet away then everything is off, not really blurry but just not clear. The lens package says -2.50 -0.75 axis 10 (if that helps any) I am wondering if there is another brand/type I can try or if maybe I am one of those people who just can not wear contacts?

Tell your eye doctor right away. You’re going to need different lenses. I have the exact same problem. The problem is that the soft lenses do not rotate with your eye so its basically like you’re not even wearing them, which is causing the blurriness. I had to switch to permeable gas lenses which rotate naturally with my eye. You can wear contacts, you may just have to try different ones until you find ones that are right for your eyes. Good luck.

Well, it’s your Dr. you should be telling this to. That’s why you have a trial pair, to see if they work for you.
Astigmatism lenses are sometimes hard to fit and several trials may have to be done to find the brand that works best for you.

Also, it takes a few days or more for your eyes to get used to wearing contacts. The eyes takes it like something foreign is in your eye and reacts to it, just like they would it you had a splinter or spec of dust in your eyes. They’ll water and burn and this makes your vision blurry, but once your eyes adjust to this, after 3-5 days, your vision should clear right up. I know it took atleast that long for my eyes to accept contacts and this is what the eye Dr told me.
He also told me to wear them at first, as long as I could stand it, and then take them out for about 20-30 minutes and rest my eyes, them put them back in, each time lengthening the time their in before I take them out, He said this helps your eye build a gradual tolerance. Then on the 3rd or 4th day, wear them all day and try to tough it out.
