im trying the new acuvue for astigmatism and they buy the hell out of me..they r way bigger than my other acuvue 2..does anybody feel the same way a me..it feels like i have a somethign stuck in my eye..i never felt that way with my old acuvue..and my eyes dry up also..which they didnt do before..

You are not alone.
After about 20 trial fittings with the Acuvue Advance for Astigmatism, and the Oasys for Astigmatism , I gave up on them. They just don’t work more than 30 or 40% of the time….which isn’t good.
Johnson & Johnson has a lot of problems developing a good toric lens. A toric lens is what lenses for astigmatism are.
A few years back they had the Acuvue Toric, but pulled it from the market after a year. I wouldn’t be surprised to see the Advance disappear before long also.
The Oasys drying out fast is another problem lots of people have with those. The material affects many that way.
As far as I’m concerned, the only good lens Acuvue makes is the Acuvue 2
It looks like you are in for some more trials, with different brands….
Good luck
I used to have Acuvue 2 Astigmatism and you are right, it feels like something is in my eye even though they were fitted right and it dried out faster. I had to take them out after work because if I went to class my eyes would bother me keeping me from focusing on my work. I had to carry around eye drops if I wanted to keep them in all day.
So I went to my doctor and I asked if he recommended any other brands. He gave me Bio-medics and I have no complaints. They’re much for comfortable and I can last an entire day with them on without any irritation. But with Bio-Medics I noticed the price increase, maybe $10 more from Acuvue. However, I’ve worn them for more than 2 weeks and they still feel fine.
