Make sure you have a contact made especially for astigmatism. You need a torrid contact, because your cornea is shaped more like a football than a round ball.
Color contacts will cost you extra, but love your natural eye color. It’s a lot more attractive than having to tell someone that the color you have isn’t your own. And as for cheaper contacts, take your prescription to Wal*Mart, or 1800-contacts. They can get you the same brand at a cheaper price.
As for putting them in and out, here’s how I do it, and it’s fairly easy.
Putting them in: Make sure your contact is right side up on your index finger of your dominant hand. Use the middle finger of your dominant hand to pull down your bottom lid, and the middle finger of your recessive hand to pull up the top lid. Focus on your eye in the mirror, not your finger coming at you. Just stare straight into your eye until you feel your finger on your eye. Gently roll your finger off, hold your eye open for a few seconds, then slowly blink. It should stay in.
Taking them out: I do it two ways. The first way, I pull my bottom lid down with the middle finger on my dominant hand. I then use my index finger on my same hand to slide the contact towards the bottom lid. Then I pinch it between my index finger and thumb and pop it out. Another way is to open your eye up the same way you use to put them in. Then take your index finger and slide the contact to the outer corner of your eye. It’ll bunch up so you can easily grasp it.
Tips: Make sure you use your fingertips, not the nails. It could rip the contact, and even damage your eye. When you’re holding your lids apart, make sure you have them at the edge. Just holding them won’t keep you from blinking. If you can’t get your contact out right away, squeeze in a drop or two of rewetting/lubricating drops and wait 10 minutes.
I really hope everything works out for you. :)

heres what i did when i first got contacts:
pull top of eyelid up with index finger and bottom with middle
put contact on index finger of other hand
look straight into the mirror and block half your pupil- this will block your vision so you cannot actually see yourself putting in the contact but you can still somewhat see
eventually it got to a point where my eyes dont twitch anymore and i can put them in no problem
hopefully you understood this/ this helped :)
