Do Glasses Correcting Astigmatism Distort The Way Your Eyes Look?

Just curious if it makes your eyes look blurred or anything. Also, I was told I have really mild astigmatism and near perfect distance vision, but I got glasses though the doctor said I didn’t need to if I didn’t want to. My prescription states -.25 sph/ -.25 x60, and -.25 sph/ -.25 x100. All signs while driving looked blurry, but with the glasses look much clearer. Is it possible that my astigmatism is worse than the doctor thought? By looking at the prescription #s, is one eye worse than the other? I’m new to wearing glasses so I don’t know much about it. thanx.

An astigmatism of -0.25 DC will not cause any distortion to how your eyes will look.
Yes. The signs that you see clearly were as a result of the underlying astigmatism which has been now corrected. Small degrees of astigmatism do sometimes cause mild visual disturbances. Don’t worry about the prescription. Its nothing as such that one eye is worse than the other.
Eyeglasses that contain any correction whether it is for nearsighted (myopia), farsightedness (hyperopia), and/or astigmatism distort the appearance of your eyes, but it is hardly noticeable unless you are looking for it. Eyeglasses to correct myopia make your eyes appear smaller and eyeglasses to correct hyperopia make your eyes appear larger.
My eyeglasses only have correction in my left eye at plano -1.75 axis 40. My right eye has a really low RX of -.50 so I choose not to correct it. My left eye appears slighter smaller than my right eye while wearing them, but it does not bother me. It was nice being able to read street signs with my left eye. I noticed a huge difference when I started wearing them.
They don’t make your eyes look blurry or anything. And the doctor could mean mild in comparison to other people, like can you still read the signs even though they’re blurry? Cos if you can then your eyes aren’t really that bad. (I can’t read the signs but i still passed the eye test for my drivers license
)
No I have an astigmatism and the only difference is that one lens of my glasses is a little thicker than the other. No fuzzy looking eye.
One eye is probably worse than the other, and that is completely normal. The glasses will not distort the way your eyes look to other people.
