okaay so i have that astigmatism thing and they just came out with those new acuvue oasis contacts. well i don’t wear my glasses all the time , just for reading and writing and the computer and stuff , but they’re really pesky, like they won’t stay up and we keep having to go back to get me stronger lenses, my mom says i’m apparently too young for contacts , but i really want em. How do i convince her to let me get them ?

if your thirteen you are not “too young”
that’s just your moms excuse
tell her its something that you really want
and your willing to do a little extra things around the house if you can have them
don’t forget to say please!
I wasn’t allowed contacts till I was around 17. They are quite expensive so if you’re parents can’t afford to pay for them then you might want to get a part-time job baby sitting or dog walking to pay for them.
Well if you don’t feel you need to wear glasses all the time then if you got contacts you would either have to keep taking them out or wear them all the time.
Nobody is too young, really. All that is needed is that they are responsible enough to care for their eyes and contacts and that they understand that not properly caring for their eyes while wearing contacts can seriously damage their eyes.
Something else you have to think about is the cost, which can be rather high.
If you wanted your mum to let you have contacts you would have to convince her you were responsible enough to look after your eyes and contributing part of the cost might help.
Having said all that, in the long run glasses usually end out cheaper and contacts are, more often than not, never prescribed to people that require correction only for close work.
EDIT:
If your glasses don’t fit you properly I suggest you take them and get them adjusted and perhaps get a smaller fitting frame next time you get new ones.
Also you say you keep having to go and get stronger lenses.
Wearing contacts won’t necessarily change that, and what could, and does happen, is that people need new rx’s in their contacts before they finish the box.=wasted contacts.
