are they any alternatives to reducing the pressure in the eye? how does one correct astigmatism?

There are eye exercises than can strengthen your eyes and reduce astigmatism and other refractive disorders. The exact mechanism of how they work is uncertain, but they do work. It seems that through exercising your eyes and cornea somehow change into normal shape.
The efficiency of eye exercises is debated by many people, but they do work! I tried them out myself.

Healthy diet is also very important:http://www.refractiveeyedisorders.com/op…
As for glaucoma or elevated eye pressure, no exercises can substitute the need for medications. You may practice exercises but you MUST regularly take your eye drops! This is serious condition and can lead to blindness very quickly if not treated correctly.
Eye exercises must be practiced usually for a few months to produce permanent results.
Best regards,
not any that work. its all voodoo my friend. bates is C-R-A-P.http://www.quackwatch.org/11Ind/bates.ht…
If you believe in natural male enchancement than you will believe in the program that DrJale indicated in his response. It is crap that you can get rid of astigmatism and a refractive error through eye exercises. The only thing eye excercises are good for are certain types of eye disorders usually found in kids. eg: convergence insufficiency
There are people out there who actually have small businesses that make up eye exercises that supposedly correct your eyesight after many many sessions. This probably costs a lot and might not always work, but there is no other natural way. Eat lots of carrots!
If you’re desperate, you could try hard over-night contacts. You put them on before bed (you never need to switch pairs, btw), take them out in the morning, and your vision should get better after time.
Good luck!
Sorry but nothing can correct deteriorated vison. Once gone is most probably permanently gone.
The bates method might work for you
