I Am Nearsighted But When I Wake Up In The Morning My Vision Is Crystal Clear?

Filed under FAQ on advance for astigmatism

I have noticed that sometimes when I wake up I can see nearly perfectly fine. Normally I cannot even tell there are words on some posters in my room, but some days as soon as I wake up for about an hour I can read them!
Normally I wear glasses for driving , but do not need them all the time . I have near sightedness in both of my eyes, and astigmatism in my left .
Is this normalll??

I am slightly short sighted but have developed astigmatism in both eyes since 3 years ago.
It is perfectly normal if after a good nights sleep (at least 8 hours) to wake up and your vision, surprise, seems clearer and can read even more or some words on a poster. But as the day progresses, when you work or study, your vision can go back to being a bit blurry, especially trying to read words more than metres away. Sometimes after wearing your glasses after 5 hours, when you take them off, your vision seems more… blurry than when you put your glasses on.
A topic you should discuss with your optometrist. I’d recommend seeing your optometrist every 6 or 12 months rather than the recommended once every 2 years. Your vision could also seem fine while walking outside.
