i know the acuvue advance for Astigmatism contacts cost a lot more than the regular acuvue advance contants. What exactly does the astigmatism mean ? Also, by me wearing these contacts, will it take my ‘astigmatism’ away. Do you think I’ll ever be able to wear normal acuvue advance contacts ? let me know. thanks

astigmatism is when your eyeball isnt round like it should be. its more shaped like the point of a football. this point can vary in position on the eye, so this is why you need special contacts, so they can fit the curvature. it wont go away. some people have problems wearing contacts, some dont. personally, i have astigmatism and i cant stand contacts.
You have a problem on your hands: You have Astigmatism. This means that, overtime your eyeball has taken the shape of an oval instead of a perfect circle. It’s a nuissance to have but it’s not terrible. The lenses, as you said are more expensive but work very well and it’s the difference between night and day, comparing it to the normal contacts.
Regular astigmatism is usually easy to correct (see treatments below), but irregular astigmatism can be complicated and more difficult to correct, depending on the extent of the irregularity and its cause.
I doubt that you will ever be able to wear normal contacts again. As far as I know, this is a condition that deteriorates and it’s not reversible.
You can however, get Acuvue lenses for astigmatism: http://www.acuvue.com/products-acuvue-ad…
This link can explain more about this condition:http://www.allaboutvision.com/conditions…
There is a drawback, according to my Ophthalmologist: There are no bifocal contact lenses for astigmatism yet (Toric lenses).
There is always the option of LASIK though. Take care!!
a normal eyeball is perfectly round, but an eye with astigmatism is not round, and it more of a football shape. astigmatism isnt healed, its just the way your eye is. the contacts for astigmatism will make it easier for you to see. depending on the extent of your astigmatism, you may be able to wear acuvue advance. ask your doctor next time you see him/her. i use bausch and lomb, but i wear the normal contacts because my astigmatism is not severe enough for special contacts. if your doctor prescribed you the astigmatism ones, then they must be better for you.
Your eyes are misshapen, meaning they’re not completely round, so you need special contact for that. I also have astigmatism. You can’t get rid of it, it’s just how your eyes are. Many people have this, so don’t worry about it. And, you’ll have to pay more for contacts because they have to make them to fit your eye, so that costs more.
astigmatism means that your pupil is a bit football shaped instead of round. also at night if you notice lights are blurry and look huge that’s because of astigmatism. its harder for us to see at night, our eyes have to focus more. i have the same contacts. no. by you wearing these it won’t go away. your born with astigmatism. yea it sucks.
No you have astigmatism and you always will have it. If you wear normal contacts your eyes may go blind. My friend is almost permanantly blind in one eye because she never did anything about it when she was younger. Good luck.
No, it won’t take astigmatism away. You don’t need to wear those contacts if you don’t want to. I have an astigmatism in my left eye and wear normal contacts in both eyes.
Astigmatism means the eye is “misaligned” besides being near or far sighted. Your eyes usually will continue to change for many years, so the astigmatism may come and go too.
it means ur eye is not perfectly round …..no not without surgery…….no
the ur eyes are gonna explode
