I Have Astigmatism And I Just Got Contact Lenses Yesterday, Am I Suppose To Notice A Difference In Vision?

My vision with contact lenses is a bit different with glasses. Its not blurry or anything, it just seems weird, does this happen to people new with contacts? I can see and read, the vision isn’t bad..just different. Anybody know what I’m talking about?

It takes at least a couple of weeks for your eyes to adjust to new contacts, especially new contacts for astigmatism. They are different from regular contacts, in that they have a weight at the bottom of the lens that holds your prescription steady. You should get used to it after a while, but if you don’t, your optometrist can change lenses, lens powers, or lens shapes to make your adaptation process and time a little easier for you. But in the end…..your glasses will most likely be your better vision no matter what.

You’ll never see as well using contacts as you do with glasses. Especially with astigmatism. I could never get good enough correction to be happy with contacts.

that’s normal… your brain is learning… give it some time

I have astigmatism in both eyes :( and wear both contacts and glasses (depending on the time of day/my mood)
Whenever I switch between the two, I always have to adjust to it because things look weird, but I can’t figure out why.
I assume it has something to do with contacts being right up against your eye and glasses being further away, and the contours, etc. It just takes a little bit for your brain to adjust
