I Have Astigmatism And Looking To Get Colored Contacts. Is It Hopeless For Me?

There is only one brand of lenses for astigmatism that comes in colors. They are the Freshlook Toric Colors.
Problem is, they don’t have a wide range of powers available, and it isn’t a very stable fitting lens even if your power is available. , which means vision wouldn’t be very good most of the time.
So, if you have enough astgmatism that you have to wear toric lenses, then you are most likely out of luck as far as colors go.
Although if you are within that limited power range, your Dr. may be able to get you trial lenses and see if they will work for you.

It’s not hopeless, however it does matter how much astigmatism you have. If your astigmatism is not too bad, often times we will prescribe a standard soft lens that only corrects for your nearsightedness (or farsightedness as the case may be). We can make some adjustments to the power to compensate for the small amount of astigmatism.
If you astigmatism is strong enough where we need to address it, then we can still prescribe soft lenses with correction for your astigmatism, called toric lenses. They make these in most colors as well.
Finally, you may be one of the minority of lens wearers who wear hard lenses. Although they do make these in colors, they are usually much more expensive.
So, you see, it;s not hopeless at all, just a matter of finding which lens works for you. Your eye doc is a great place to start.

I have an astigmatism and wear contacts. I have not looked into coloured ones but don’t see why you couldn’t. I think torics or aspherics are made for our eyes…ask an optician!
