I am nearsighted, and distance is a blur. I also have an astigmatism. Any advice would be appreciated. Thanx.

You mean you have a fear of putting anything in your eye? I had that too before I got contacts, just the idea of it totally freaked me out. It took me a month or two to really get comfortable taking them in and out but it is not actually very hard to do once you get used to it. As long as you follow the instructions and keep your hands clean, etc you shouldn’t have any problems with the contacts or your eyes:) When you go to get the contacts they will show you how to put them in and give you some instructions. I am really happy I got them but it is really up to you.
I think some people with astigmatism can wear contacts and some cannot? If you have astigmatism you usually have to wear a particular type of contact lens- there are special ones designed to correct for astigmatism. You should ask your eye doctor about it, they can give you more specific info.

I train people to put contacts in and I would have to tell you, If you are not comfortable doing it, Don’t! not until YOU want to, training someone that is unsure of the whole thing makes it 5xs harder to actually get it done. When you are comfortable with yourself to try, then do it. Until then save yourself the frustration and the time of the trainer.
