Hey everyone i recently ordered contacts from walmart. I have astigmatism on my left eye so contacts for this eye cost me over 100 dollars! and i still cant see out of it. its blurry! Is this suppose to be like that? I can see fine out of my other eye and those contacts only cost like 30 dollars? The problem is when i got my “try on” contacts i never went back to the doctor so he can see if my contacts are helping my eyes. and i went back to walmart and they just told me i can order the contacts so i did but i see blurry out of my left eye? What should i do??

The contact you got is not sitting on your eye correctly. Its blurry because it keeps moving off of your pupil because of your astigmatism. You need to go back to the eye doctor and have him look at it. You will probably need a different brand. I have had the same problem with my eyes. I ended up having to get permeable gas contacts because I could not find a soft lens that would not rotate on my eye. You really need to discuss this with your eye doctor.

Try turning the cant 90 degrees and see if that helps, then another 90 in the same direction if the first turn didnt do it . astigmatism contacts are tricky because they are shaped different from top to bottom instead of concave like your other lens.

i say go back and tell em you cant see. Could be they ordered the wrong one. Or… i had a pack of contacts were there was a flaw in the contact, so it said it was a certain strength but it wasnt… they just sent me new contacts.

They probably gave you the wrong prescription in your left eye, it’s kinda weird b/c I got my contacts from wal-mart also and they gave me the wrong one for my left eye too!! So I just went back and told her I was having problems seeing out of that eye and she went and grabbed me a test sample of my prescription and it worked just fine, she said I simply just got the wrong one originally! (no charge for it)

Did you go to Walmart’s doctor or another doctor? They are the only ones who can answer that question about charges. Why did you order contacts, that if you had a trial pair of, you couldn’t see out of? They Shouldn’t charge for seeing the Dr again if it has only been a few weeks & most drs have some type of exchange policy that maybe they can trade you an equal amount of trial lenses to the ones left over in your box.

Astigmatism contacts are very different then ordinary spherical ones. They have 2 extra parameters besides the power, these are the cylinder and the axis of the lens. I would confirm with your eyecare practitioner that you received the correct lenses and once they confirm I would send them back to Walmart and ask for replacement lenses due to the fact that the lenses you currently have could be defective. Most optical stores both “brick and mortar” and online have decent return policies which should be similar to the one found at the following link http://www.contactlensking.com/returnpol… If they give you a hard time I would try ordering from another retailer. I hope this information was useful.
