Is Lasik For Me?

I am 24 years old and have had the same prescription for about 4 years now. I’m sick of wearing contact lenses and hate glasses with a passion. Other than being nearsighted I have no other problems with my eye such as an astigmatism. Should I go through with Lasik and how much will it cost?

It varies by prescription as to the cost. And you could get LASIK to correct astigmatisms as well as nearsightedness and farsightedness.
There are other factors that you would have to consider before doing LASIK. If you have dry eye or allergy problems that affect the eyes, LASIK would just make you get worse dry eye. You could get dry eye so bad that it could be painful. That would be a good reason not to do LASIK. There are other reasons. Also, as far as LASIK goes, if you do it, be careful to research your physician, and you might want to get more than one opinion to find out if you are a good candidate for LASIK (as some doctors would just do the procedure even though it shouldn’t be done in order to make some extra money). Make sure the physician who is doing the procedure has a good track record–you only get one pair of eyes, and you don’t want to lose your ability to see because of the procedure.
My husband just had lasik on Tuesday. It was $3790 for both eyes, he was done in about 15 minutes and could see perfectly the next morning. So far he LOVES it! Make an appointment with a doctor – they offer free consultations to discuss if your a candidate, the risks & benefits, and the cost of the procedure.
once they laser your eye they can never do anything to your eye again so when you get older if you have vision problems they can’t do anything for you however they won’t tell you that now
