I just had my eye exam in the doctor that my insurance company tell me to go to. I found out that I have a really high astigmatism, and the costs of everthing from eye exam, fitting and contact lenses itself are $360. Apparently my insurance only cover $60.
I was just wondering should I go for it? or just go to a regular store like walmart, costco and etc? I called those store and the price is about $100 each place. BUT, the problem is Im a bit worried about those stores, I mean are they good as these private doctor?

You should go and spend the extra money at a better doctor because you will get better service and what you need without a problem. Especially since you have really high astigmatism. Good Luck
Your best bet is to stay w/the doctor you are with, especially if they do a full, comprehensive eye exam (which it sounds like they did).
Did your insurance company cover your eye exam in full (other than a copay)? If not, you can ask the doctor to submit your exam as a medical visit and hopefully your insurance company can pay that in full. I know the doctors I work with are really good about doing that for patients.
Also, if you have the parameters of your contacts, and have been fitted for them already, you can purchase the contacts themselves from a provider that sells them for less (places like Walmart may sell the same brand contacts as the private doctor). I worked for a private doctor and patient’s were allowed to take their contact prescriptions anywhere to get them filled.
Hope this helps and good luck!
