My Contacts Sometimes Make My Eye Red, But Not Really Irritated?

I’m going to call my optometrist of course.
The thing is I want to see if anyone else here has had this problem too.
I have an astigmatism. So supposedly, contacts are BARELY reaching the point to allow people with astigmatisms to wear them. Well, supposedly my left eye has more of an astigmatism than my right eye. My left eye is the one that gets red though. It’s not like the whites of my eyes get red, just more blood vessels start to show. Is that suppose to be a normal for contact wearers? As long as it doesn’t hurt is it normal?

Seeing more blood vessels is a sign the eye is not getting enough oxygen. This can happen because the lens may be too tight, or it could be that the lens is too thick because it’s an astigmatism lens which is inherently thicker than non-astigmatism lenses.
This isn’t good nor is it normal. Do not sleep in the lenses until your doctor checks you out.
I think you are making too big a deal about ‘having astigmatisms’. I have had astigmatisms for more years than I want to admit publicly. Wore corrective glasses through high school. Bought my first pair of contacts. HARD lenses at 21, and did fine until I needed to go into bifocals.
So your statement that ‘contacts are barely reaching the point’… is bogus. Untrue. Incorrect. Inaccurate.
You may be trying to wear the contacts too long each day. Follow the directions. You may have an allergy to the solution. Your ophthalmologist can tell you for sure.
