Umm…how do you lose contacts? They are IN your eye. You take them out before bed.
Also, in the summer with contacts you will be able to wear sunglasses protecting your eyes from the suns harmful rays :-)
If your parents wont let you get them due to cost…
Contacts for astigmatisms are A LOT more pricier than “normal” contacts so rather than get them through your eyecare provider or Target, seriously go to Sam’s Club-hopefully there is one near you. The cost at Target is about $67 per box for 6 months, so $70 x2 is about $140. You can go to Sams Club with no membership and order contacts (the same brand) and get them for about $67 total!

You need to prove to your parents that you are responsible; this means actions not words.
So to convince them you can:
    1) Get a part time job and pay half the cost
    2) Keep your room clean and neat
    3) Keep yourself clean — shower without being told etc
    4) Do your homework on time, never lose it or forget it
    5) Don’t lose your stuff including the current pair of glasses
    6) Do chores around the house without nagging or reminders
    7) Learn to do your own laundry and do it.
    8) Shovel the snow, mow the lawn, walk the dog, feed the bird…. without being asked
    9) Don’t leave your stuff lying around the house, pick it up and put it away
    10) Learn to cook simple dishes and offer to make dinner once a week

You say you won’t take your contacts off before bed. Well you might have to because you can’t wear contacts for more hours than your eye doctor says. I was only recommended to wear mines for 8 hours a day and then I wear glasses. I was also told to take a break from them so I don’t wear them on the weekends. I suggest you buy contacts when you get a job and can afford to buy them yourself.

we both have the same problem. my mom wants me to be older and more mature. i also have astigmatism and another thing that i cant remember. next week is my homecoming and i seroiusly dont wanna go with my glasses. I’ve actually noticed that some people look good with glasses, BUT.. i look better without them.
