Okay, I’m Still Confused?

I’m trying to order contact lenses online. (No, I don’t want to go through an optometrist because I want circle lenses.)
But I still can’t figure out what’s the difference between astigmatism and non-astigmatism contacts.
And what is the base curve, diameter measurements for?
Would it be alright if they were off just a little?

Contacts for astigmatism correct the astigmatism. Contacts that don’t correct for astigmatism don’t. It;s that simple really.
If you normally wear toric lenses for astigmatism, and get lenses that aren’t toric, then you most likely just won’t see very well with them. The astigmatism correction is an important part of the total correction some people need.
The base curve is the curvature of the lens, which has to match the curvature of your corneas.
Is it alright if they are off a little ?…well if you wear a size 6 shoe, will a size 5 or 7 be as good ?
It’s just about impossible for any one here to know if they will fit you or not , or if you will even be able to see with them.
Ordering online is a chance you take.
That is a really silly question. That is like asking someone will i fit into a size 0 dress when im a size 16? The reason why you have to go through an optometrist is so they can take these measurements and keep you safe and your eyes healthy. You may find cheaper lenses on the internet but its always best to have all these things checked out before going ahead and endangering your eyes with contact lenses. I’ve seen where contact lenses go wrong and when it goes wrong it goes very badly wrong trust me!
