I’m About To Get Rigid Gas Permeable Contact Lenses, And I’m Wondering If It’s Okay To Play Tennis With Them?

I just had my eye exam almost exactly a week ago, and my optometrist recommended me rgp contact lenses for crisper vision, as I have bad astigmatism. I know the diameter of rgp contact is smaller than a soft contact, thus, will it be easier to… fall out of my eye in a sense?
I’m going to be playing tennis with them, and I can’t afford to lose a contact lens by it coming out of my eye.
Also, how long does it take generally to custom make rgp contact lenses? I have yet to get a call from my optometrist.

Question About Eye Axis For Contacts?

My axis is 180 for both eyes, but they are an eyeglass prescription.
my contacts cylinder: -1.25 R -1.75 L ?axis?
I asked my doctor about my axis but he said it could be lower for contacts. I’m deciding whether to go for 170 or 180 for axis on the toric lenses.
I have astigmatism therefore I’m ordering toric lenses.
Thanks

Confused About What Type Of Contacts To Get [points To Best Answer]?

Filed under FAQ on advance for astigmatism
I have really bad short-sightedness (myopia) and quite bad astigmatism. I think I have to get toric lenses (that is what the optician said) because of the astigmatism but will any type work for the astigmatism AND the myopia or will they only work for the astigmatism.
I doubt I’ll get any answers so thanks if you help!
I’ve Worn Contacts For About 5 Or 6 Years And Got New Ones But Now My Eyes Dry Up And I Cant Wear Them.

I have been wearing contacts for about 5 or 6 years but recently got a new eye prescription and they told me they longer made the contacts I wear. I have tried a few new brands out but they simply dry out my left eye (it is a toric lens for astigmatism). Could I have a problem with my eye or am I just unable to get used to a different material in the lens itself? I cannot keep it in my left eye for more than a half hour but my right eye (normal contact) feels fine. I have been interning in a datacenter this summer which uses a complex air conditioning system and the problem has gotten worse since being here. Any ideas?
Question About Eyecare/medical Help For Uni Students?

Hi all,
I was just wondering if there’s any help at all for people with eye problems. I’m 18 and been off college for two years but I’m going to uni in september. My eyes are expensive- all the problems – normal prescription, astigmatism and prism and so contact lenses cost a bomb for me- £26 a month at minimum… Is there any help at all that I can get for costs..? Theres help for everything else except my two biggest problems; eyes & feet so I just don’t know what to do!
Any advice is really good so thanks in advance to anyone…

3.the ones from the doctor cost like 90 or 100 dollars, how much are the acuvue ones?
4.Are the color ones nice(comfortable and stuff?)? which color should i choose? (my hair is black and my skin is a LITTLE darker than in my avatar, would the greyish or brown ones look good?)
5.When should i get them? (i’m getting my glasses in 2 weeks, the doctor said i should get used to the glasses first)
i also have to convince my mom to get them!…she said that it would be hard for me to take care and stuff, and that they would irritate..any idea how i can convince her?
it would be very helpful if you answer even ONE of those questions!

Need Help Figuring Out What To Do About My Contacts?

I am having serious trouble with the contacts I have now. For years, I have used toric contact lenses, but when I changed doctors, he said I didn’t have enough of an astigmatism to warrant toric lenses. I thought, great, cheaper lenses, but I have had nothing but problems with them. After trying several different brands and solutions, my vision is still blurred after an hour of wearing them, and it’s gotten to the point where I get terrible headaches because I can’t see. I work at a computer all day, and I can’t tell the difference between certain characters that I type.
I can’t have another exam until May because of insurance purposes, so I was going to buy contacts online. But I only have an old toric presciption for one eye, and my doctor won’t alter my prescription for my astigmatism. Is there some way I can convert my old toric prescription to one that makes me see clearly?
Can Anyone Tell Me About This Eye Doctor In Cairo?

The Eye Clinic of Dr Ahmed Khalilhttp://www.eyecairo.net/
Does anyone know about him? Is he any good?
I want to get refractive (Lasik) surgery this year. Since this surgery is elective and not necessary, I’d have to pay for it myself. My hope is that I can pay for it while visiting Egypt this year right after Eid ul-Fitr. I did some online seeking, and found the doctor above. Does anyone know about him?
Does anyone know of a really good doctor, whether it’s Dr Khalil or not? It has to be done very well, because I have only one eye – the other was removed back in 1984 – so I have no back-up plan, lol.
I have glaucoma, myopia and astigmatism in the remaining eye. The visual acuity without glasses is 6/22, and I can’t remember what it is with glasses, but it’s anywhere between 6/6 and 6/8.
Any information would be greatly appreciated, thanx.
