Can Someone With Astigmatism Wear Clearly Colors (comfort Fit) Conact Lenses?

Filed under FAQ on advance for astigmatism

I have astigmatism, and a really, really high prescription. I can’t see well far away, and my prescription is a little above negative five on each eye.
I have wanted color contacts for a while now, but usually they are really expensive. I found clearly colors (comfort fit) contact lenses online for a pretty low price, but I cant find any for astigmatism. Do I have to get a special kind for astigmatism, or are these okay? If there is a special kind I have to get for astigmatism, I want them to be Clearly Colors colored contacts, and in some variation of the color gold, honey, or amber.
I have brown eyes, if that helps.
Thank you soo much:)

What Other Contacts Are There For A Difficult Astigmatism? Tried So Many. Do I Have Other Options?

Filed under FAQ on advance for astigmatism

I wore gas perms for 10 years but am now no longer able to wear them because I have developed very dry eyes. I have been trying soft toric lenses for months changing prescripton and brand and nothing is working. I have a very strong prescription about -6.00 and my astigmatism is wierd in one eye, axis 50. I have tried oasys, they would hang too low. Purevision and Softlens are too dry and sticky. Air optics burn my eyes and my vision is unclear. Pro Clear was uncomfortable. Anybody have any ideas? I have been trying trials for 4 months now. I don’t want to wear my coke bottle glasses. I’m very glad that my doc is trying so hard for me but I am thinking he is about to tell me there aren’t any there options. Help.

Spherical Equivalent In New Astigmatism?

Filed under FAQ on advance for astigmatism

I’ve been working in eyecare for 4 years now and it has always been my experience that most previous wearers of spherical lenses don’t like toric contacts. Especially if it’s only in one eye. So here’s my question: patient comes in with -2.50 sph OD and -2.75 -0.25 178 OS and refracts to -2.50 -0.25 180 OD and -3.00 -0.75 175 OS. She is a 17 y/o F with previous CL wear x4 years. Dr. Orders that the patient be placed in spherical lenses OU (which is what I would try 1st given the history) and the lead optician (who mind you has not been doing CL fits for more than 10 months) looks at me like I’m crazy when I tell her she’s to be sphere OU… Am I completely out in Left field? I’ve been doing fits for about 2 years. I don’t want to start a fight but I was trained by two knowledgeable and experienced CL certified opticians and my co-worker doesn’t even have her LICENSE!!! Help!!!

I Have Slight Astigmatism ?

Filed under FAQ on advance for astigmatism

i was told i had slight astigmatism, and i had a choice of wearing regular soft lenses or hard lenses. if i wear the soft lenses, far away things will be shadowy and blurry and if i wore the hard lenses, they would be uncomfortable and make my eyes red, but i would see everything clearly. i asked about contacts for people with astigmatism, but he said my amount was too less for that. he said my astigmatism was about 25% or something. that was the ultimatum my stupid optometrist gave me. i went home and researched if there was anything else i could do. i found out toric lenses which are for people with astigmatism. i was wondering if someone with slight astimatism wear toric lenses. i read somewhere it could correct it, but i want some other opinions. thanks !

Do They Make Contacts That You Can Wear At Night For People With Astigmatism?

I’ve worn contacts for over two years now and I have the kind for astigmatism. I’ve only had one check up since then, they day I got them. I’m not supposed to leave them in overnight, but I’ve forgotten to take them out a few times. If I accidently fall asleep with them in, even if it’s ten minutes, when I wake up there very dry and harder to take out. My next appointment I would like to get ones you can wear overnight if they’re available.

Any Opticians Here? Why Has My Astigmatism Shifted In 3 Months?

Filed under FAQ on advance for astigmatism

Got new prescription and glasses at Christmas. Right lens updated as astigmatism had moved back to where it used to be, left eye had hardly changed. Now 3 months later my left eye is blurred with my new glasses on, but tilting them 15-20% all comes back into focus.
Is this normal? What is causing it, and am I going to be forking out for new eye tests and lenses every 3 months for the rest of my life?

Do I Have Astigmatism?

Hi, im about to turn 16 and for I guess 4 years my eyes have gotten worse and worse and worse, from 20 20 vision to not legal to drive now,my eyes hurt whenever I focus on anything, like reading something right infront of me(Im not having trouble reading it it just hurts) or on the computer. My glasses help me see farther, but when I have them on, my eyes will hurt aswell, as if looking at things closing up irritates my eyes. My father had astigmatism and from trying to self diagnose myself it kind of sounds like I have it. Is there anyway to stop this pain??? I’ve never tried contacts
