How Do I Become More Confident?

How do I become more confident about wearing my glasses?
I have off and on worn glasses since I was 14 and I am 20 now.
I now have an astigmatism in both eyes and have trouble wearing the contacts.
I just don’t feel confident about wearing them in front of others.
I worry that I don’t look good in them or if someone might think I look bad in them.
I also feel like its what everyone stares at when I talk to them.
How can I feel better about this?

Whenever I see something up close it becomes blurry but when its far away I see perfectly fine. I already tired 3 different brands and they still do the same thing. I have a astigmatism and I’m 15 and I have a pretty high prescription it’s like -7.50. Is it the brand or what? This is the first time I wear contacts and I’ve worn glasses for about 9 years. Please help!

I know they say that you cant become a pilot if you have high degrees on both eyes but how about low degrees but with moderate astigmatism. Any information will help. Plus i would also like to know if Lasik can cure astigmatism or if wearing glasses regularly wil improve the condition?

My Eyes Become Red After Taking Out My Contacts?

Filed under FAQ on advance for astigmatism

Hi,
I recently started wearing contacts. I have been following up with my eye doctor several times for the last few weeks.
I first started with Biomedics Toric, which I couldn’t stand and the MD switched me to Proclears Toric, which caused my eyes to become red during use. Finally, he switched me to Acuvue Advance for Astigmatism. This lense has been the most comfortable for me and I have no problems with it while using it. After wearing contacts for a whole day, my eyes become light red after taking them out and my eyes usually feel weird for about 15 minutes after taking them out.
This happens off and on, but my opthamologist said the fit looks good and that Acuvue was the best lens for me (because of my high astigmatism) since it provides the most oxygen (silicon hydrogel).
It concerns me about the redness of my eye after taking the lens out. Do you’ll have any suggestions. I use OptiFree Replinish solution and Blink Contacts for my rewetting drops.
