okaay so i have that astigmatism thing and they just came out with those new acuvue oasis contacts. well i don’t wear my glasses all the time , just for reading and writing and the computer and stuff , but they’re really pesky, like they won’t stay up and we keep having to go back to get me stronger lenses, my mom says i’m apparently too young for contacts , but i really want em. How do i convince her to let me get them ?

they say I’m going to lose them because I lost my glasses..difference is I always took my glasses off because I hate the looks of them..I’m not gonna take my contacts off unless its before bed so its completely different.

I’ve been wearing glasses since I was 3 and a half when the doc discovered i have astigmatism. I am 12 and a half now and I really want them. My parents said i can have them at 13 but I don’t want to wait!!!

I’m been wearing glasses for most of my life and I’m 14. My mom told me when I was little that I could never get contacts because I can only see out of my left eye and it’s 80-100/20 vision uncorrected and it’s too dangerous. I totally understand it can be dangerous because I could irritate my eyes if I used contacts, tear my eye by putting the contact in the wrong way, and getting an infection by not taking it out or accidently sleeping in them. But now that I’ve realized that they DO have contacts in higher powers for people like me, it makes me upset that I’ve had to have bulky glasses for most of my life. I’m TOTALLY thankful that i can at least see out of my left eye, but I really would like to try contacts, because I’ve heard that people with vision up to 200/20 can wear contacts. I just feel like glasses are just a reminder that I’m not normal with vision like everyone else. I’ve heard that there are the more harder contacts for people with poor vision or astigmatism. I’ve tried asking my mom for them already, but she says that I’m stuck with glasses for life and I will never get them, and shes making me so pissed because I feel like I’ve been lied to about my eyes and could have dealt without stupid lenses on my face. I’m going to my eye doctor next week, how should I ask and convince my eye doctor to get contacts?
