If I wear just one contact in my right eye I can see fine again. My question is- Can I order a vision correction contact for my right eye and no prescription in my left (even with an astigmatism)?

I have astigmatism and recently ordered contact lenses with an sph of +1.00. They do not work at all. I looked at my old lenses which did work, and they have an sph of 0.00. While the CYL (-1.75) and AX (20) are the same for both pairs. Does this make sense, an sph of 0.00 being able to correct my astigmatism? I thought the sph of 0.00 meant not correction…

Every patient is different. It is possible that he could, but it is also possible that enough of the cornea will have been removed in the first surgery that it cannot be done again.
He will need to check with his doctor to determine the correct answer for his specific situation.

Is it normal to have a mild astigmatism (like, -75/x100) but not need near/farsighted vision correction? Are contacts available for this type of correction? I’ve worn glasses for years and have recently thought about going to contacts, but didn’t know if it’s possible.

Is 180 Considered A High Degree Of Astigmatism? Can I Wear Lenses Without Astigmatism Correction?

The 180 axis is the plane of the astigmatism, not the amount. For the amount, you need to look at the cylinder prescription.
By lenses, I assume you mean contacts. I would have to know your cylinder numbers to know if you could get by with non-toric contacts. If you have less than 3/4 diopeter units (eg., -0.75) for the cylinder, you can wear regular contacts or soft disposables. An eye doctor may add up to half the cylinder power to the sperical power to create an average prescription. Or soft disposables will correct a small amount of astigmatism even though they are not designed to do that.

I have astigmatism but how do they find out what correction is needed for it? How is it different from how they test for myopia, reading letters etc.?
