Eye Doctor- Big Difference Between Contacts And Glasses Perscription?

I went to the eye doctor today and I definately felt like my vision had gotten worse. Well I was right. When my doctor refracted ( i think that is the word he used) my vision went from being -1.25 in my right and -1.00 in my left both with -.5 astigmatism to -1.75 in both eyes without astigmatism. At least that is what he told me and what the glasses perscription said. When I went over to the contacts people, I already wore contacts I have for about 4 years, they had me put my old ones on and said since I could still read the 20/20 line with those they didn’t need to give me a stronger perscription. I could read it but it probably could have been clearer. I know what I saw when I was with the doctor was clearer than that. So my question is why would they do this I mean .5 and .75 is enough to make a big difference right? Should I go back and have them fix it or am I just worrying over nothing? Thanks so much for your help!

Is There A Difference Between….?

…..acuvue advance for astigmatism contact lenses and acuvue oasis for astigmatism contact lenses? My mom decided to order my contacts from 1-800-CONTACTS instead of from my optometrist like usual and the boxes that came in today said acuvue advance instead of acuvue oasis and she’s now worried that they will mess up my eyes even more than they already are. Is there an actual difference?

Is There A Difference Between A Glasses Rx And A Contact Lenses Rx, If Yes What Is Or Are They?

if it doesnt make a diffence, on my Rx its says: R……+1 ….+0.75……180
for the left one it says: L …. +1…..+0.50…..175.
now when I went online for buying the lense all I see is +/- 0.75 and no 175 axis. and no 0,50. does it makes a difference and what shud i take into consideration. or shud i go test differently for lenses?
Knowledgeable opinions please and thank you. I have slight astigmatism the optometrist said.
Sincerely,
Shia

What’s The Difference Between Opti-free Replenish And Express Contact Solutions?

I’ve been using Acuvue Advanced for Astigmatism for 3 years now. I’ve been using Opti-free Express contact solution, but I see there is a Replenish formula out there. The back of my Express bottle specifies soaking for at least 6 hours, which is a pretty standard time for any solution, no? So what’s the difference between Express and Replenish?
(Note – I’ve never had a problem with Express and my eyes have never felt dry)

Hi,
I am currently using 1-Day Acuvue for Astigmatism which have a base curve of 8.5. I want to switch to Air Optix for Astigmatism which are only available in 8.7
Would this difference be a significant change in the comfort/fit of the lenses?
Thanks,
Tom.

I just got a prescription for glasses because I have a mild astigmatism in both my eyes. Does that mean I’m nearsighted as well because distances are blurry for me? When I wear my glasses to read I get kind of dizzy – should I just use them for distances?
