Should I Tell My Eye Doctor? And If So How?

I went for an eye exam in December 2006 because I was having problems with the distance vision in my right eye especially while driving at night. I know the vision in my right eye has been a little blurry for some time. I just assumed I was mildly nearsighted and may have to do something about it eventually and it did not really bother me much until recently. The vision in my left eye seemed fine.
To my suprise, I was advised I was farsighted and was given the following prescription. Keep in mind, I had not been having any issues with seeing near objects.
Right Eye sphere +1.00 cyl -1.50 axis 60
Left Eye sphere +.75
I know the spherical numbers indicate that the farsightedness was mild, but the astigmatism was in the moderate range based on what I have read about it. It was the reason I was having problems with my distance vision. I chose to get glasses and contact lenses and the prescriptions are same except the cylinder on the contact lens is -1.25.

I’m Having Serious Eye Problems. Just Went To The Eye Doctor!?

I’m 17 years old, I just went to the eye doctor a few weeks ago, and they found minor astigmatism in my left eye, and gave me really minor prescription glasses. everything was fine after that.
two nights ago, I had a serious panic attack from stress–I was dizzy for hours and needed to be in a dark room for the rest of the night. when i woke up yesterday, everything was blurry. It even seems like the glasses make long distance vision WORSE! I have no problem reading up close, but seeing anything from about 10 feet or further is almost impossible!
I don’t understand how this could have happened overnight, and the panic attack may be completely irrelavent, but it’s all so weird. I haven’t worn the glasses since yesterday. I was hoping that when I woke up today it would be gone but it wasn’t!
I should also mention that I am diabetic, because that can affect vision over time but my blood sugars are good, and nothing like that should happen overnight like it did! help please!

Vision Problem? I Need A Quick Answer-leaving For Eye Doctor In 1 Hour! ?

I’m not sure if I have astigmatism or not. I’ve noticed that while taking notes during school I get blurry vision. I look down, write, then look back up at the board, and notice my vision is blurred. It usually takes a few seconds for my eyes to focus again. I also frequently get headaches. I don’t know if that has anything to do with the blurred vision, but it is a symptom of astigmatism. Oh, I forgot to mention that I wear contact lenses, and have never had problems when I wore glasses. Do you think its astigmatism, or just the contacts? Or could it be something else?

What Would You Think/do? Could The Eye Doctor Be Wrong?

This might get long, so stick with me! What do you think about this?
I have been nearsighted for about five years now and have always seen the same eye doctor, who I love! Last time I went in for my appointment, she was out, so I had to see the other dr. who works there. This doctor was kind of rude towards me, nothing in particular, just her overall snipped manner. She said it was surprising that my eyes had not got a lot worse like most kids my age (16) who come to the doctor because their eyes change rapidly. Then she told me mine were a little worse and I had astigmatism now too. So she gave me my new prescription and I took it to a store and got my glasses. I think the nearsightedness is like -2 or -4, I’m not sure which and I don’t know about the astigmatism. I know my eyes aren’t too awfully bad overall though.
Anyway, the new glasses were so weird! I hated getting used to them. I would see wavy lines or blurriness a lot and my eyes would be sore and I’d get head-achy. The lense on my left was sticking out the tope of the frame a little bit too. I could still see fine through my old glasses and wanted to go back to that prescription, but my parents thought I just needed to get used to the new one. They do believe me now, because I complained about them for many months, not just a week or so ’till I adjusted.
It’s been over a year now and my eyes still hurt and waviness bothers me once in the while. I kind of think I don’t really have astigmatism, but why would the doctor have told me that I do, if I don’t? My old glasses aren’t quite right either anymore, but I think that’s because I’m mostly used to my new ones now. Unless wearing the new glasses messed up my vision more or actually gave me astigmatism. Could this happen?
What do you think? Is there anything I can do to get rid of the astigmatism or know for sure that I have it? I do know I’m due for another eye appointment sometime soon, and I’m certainly not seeing anyone but my trusted eye doctor from now on!

Do I Have To Go Back To The Doctor Every Time I Try New Contacts ?

So, i just got my contact lenses from my family eye doctor …
i think i did pretty good considering putting them on and off ,
plus i’ve read almost EVERY info. i could find on the internet about taking care of lenses etc …
my doctor gave me a 2 week free trial of Air-Optic for Astigmatism.
i dont really like them … maybe is just im not use to wearing contacts
BUT anyway ~ i would like to try some other brands and some colored contacts such as Acuvue, GEO, FreshLook, etc etc .
although my parents said ive to go to the doctor’s office to re-fit them when ever i try on new lenses … im not sure if they are right or what so ever, cuz i thought as long as you have your right prescription and stuff you could juz order them off on-line or in store as long as its legit :) ?
also another question can i just wear soft lenses instead of those special Astigmatism ?? and what’s your favorite brand ??

Can Anyone Tell Me About This Eye Doctor In Cairo?

The Eye Clinic of Dr Ahmed Khalilhttp://www.eyecairo.net/
Does anyone know about him? Is he any good?
I want to get refractive (Lasik) surgery this year. Since this surgery is elective and not necessary, I’d have to pay for it myself. My hope is that I can pay for it while visiting Egypt this year right after Eid ul-Fitr. I did some online seeking, and found the doctor above. Does anyone know about him?
Does anyone know of a really good doctor, whether it’s Dr Khalil or not? It has to be done very well, because I have only one eye – the other was removed back in 1984 – so I have no back-up plan, lol.
I have glaucoma, myopia and astigmatism in the remaining eye. The visual acuity without glasses is 6/22, and I can’t remember what it is with glasses, but it’s anywhere between 6/6 and 6/8.
Any information would be greatly appreciated, thanx.
