i have contacts but i don’t wear them that often just because they are SOO annoying!!
they are ALWAYS dry even like 5 minutes after i put them in or if i use drops they dry up in like 10 minutes
i have astigmatism or w/e in one eye but its not that bad and so my eye doctor said that its not enough to change the lens but i mostly feel discomfort in that eye and after i blink it hurts
im 14 and im farsighted and i dont’ usually wear glasses or contacts or anything my prescription is +5.25 and +5.75
i get headaches a lot because of not wearing them but i prefer that over messing with it
know what probems might be or have suggestions
(apparently in a few years i won’t be able to focus like i can right now so i have to start wearing them for when i start to drive too)

i have had contacts for over a year now….
for the first 6 months, i wroe my contacts at least 4 times a week, and it was fine, it just always took me a while to put them in
then about 3 months ago or so, after the summer, whenever i tried to put contacts in, after like 2 hours my eyes turned realy red,
so i stopped wearing contacts except for parties and stuff, and i use visine for red eyes, and that hardly works, and i wash y hands avd everything
how do i prevent my eyes from turning red and itchy and burny???
wats wrong? o btw i have an astigmatism so the the contacts are toric (purevision)
and i use optifree solution, always have, but have used 2 different solutions for one day each when sleeping over at friend’s houses and forgetng to bring solution
also, my eye doctor told me not to wash my contact case out with water, only solution, and after 8 months of using contacts, i washed them out with water a few times. Could this have anything to do with it? plz help!!
Eye Doctors, Please Read! I Picked Up My Eyeglasses Today And My Vision Is Improved, But Not 20/20.?

My right eye is corrected to 20/20, but my left is only to 20/30. They checked the prescription on the lenses and they are correct. The doctor said my left eye may need “Stimulation” to improve. He explained that this meant my brain had basically been shutting off the images from my left eye because my right eye was much stronger for so long and with my new glasses, “signals” from both eyes should be sent to the brain and I will be corrected to 20/20 after wearing them for a while. Is this something other new glasses wearers go through?
My prescription in both eyes is not very high I don’t think, .75 in my right and 2.00 in the left. (For distance) I also have astigmatism in the left eye. If it makes a difference, I am 22 years old and this is my FIRST pair of glasses ever.
Thanks!

Eye Doctors: Inconsistent Vision With New Contact Lenses?

I just got contacts on Monday. I have been trying to get used to them and in the first two days, thought what I was seeing was just my eyes adjusting, but I don’t think it is. My left eye and contact seem okay. It is a toric lens. My right eye, which actually has better unaided vision than the left is giving me problems. The right eye has slight astigmatism, apparently that cannot be corrected with soft contact lenses and so it is just a +.50 Rx. And I have noticed some “ghosting,” especially with things produced by light (computer monitors, headlights, tv screens). If I cover the left eye, it goes away, so I know it’s the right eye. I just can’t help but think my vision is actually WORSE with the right contact in!!
What can I do?
Is there a contact lens made for “slight” astigmatism?
(I have my follow up appointment on Tuesday, so there’s no point in going in early. I’m just looking for some input so I can have an intelligent conversation with my doctor.)
How Do The Eye Doctors Determine If You Have Astigmatism?

Astigmatism is the curved shape of the eye lens when it is not perfectly round. It usually looks a little football shaped.
The doctor will do a topology graph by light, non-contacting, that give an excellent picture. Of course it can be easily corrected with a lasik crowning while having your vision perfected.

I I have a little astigmatism in my right eye but I want to know how they know it’s astigmatism and not just myopia. Is there like a chart or do they literally observe your cornea and determine your axis and power from that?
