Not Ever Taking Out My Contacts?

I’ve been wearing contacts for about half a year, my eyesight is very bad, i’m half legally blind. I also have an astigmatism, so I decided to try wearing acuvue contacts for astigmatism and I love it. Not having to wearing glasses is so cool, but.. I don’t take my contacts out every night like I should be, I did at first but then I started forgetting.. or I would be too tired. I basically only take them out once a month now to put in new ones.. How harmful is this to my eyes?
Like, most people I know that wear contacts never take theirs out at night either. I think the chance for an infection would lessen because your not handling the lens as often, so less chance of spreading germs right?

Has Anyone Ever Heard Of Wearing Contacts And Glasses At The Same Time?

My eye doctor is suggesting I wear my contacts for seeing distance and mid range then putting on glasses for close reading or computer work. I am extremely nearsighted with an astigmatism and now due to age need something similar to bifocals… he already told me I’m not a good candidate for any kind of eye surgery. It sounds crazy to me!

Has Anyone Ever Heard Of A Condition Called “baby’s Eye?”?

Filed under FAQ on advance for astigmatism

I’ve been told by numerous opthomologists that my right eye never developed and that it’s like a new born babies eye. I should have worn a patch on the strong eye to make the weaker eye develop when I was a child. This condtion seems to affect one person in every generation on my father’s side of the family. Does anyone know of a way to treat this? I’m legally blind in my right eye 20/400. My left eye is 20/40, but I also have alot of astigmatism.
Please don’t tell me to have Lasik or any of the new surgeries, I’ve been told over and over that no doctor would touch me for that because for some reason if my left eye got damaged during the surgery that I’d be totally blind.
I have heard of excerises to correct this, but I’m not sure where to look this up or what they are called. Please advise.

Have You Ever Purchased Contact Lenses Online?

If so, from where. Were you satisfied and if, not, why? Did you incur substantial or minimal savings? I’m particularly interested in Acuvue Advance w/Hydraclear for Astigmatism. They’re for my daughter who has blown through about 2 dozen pair since she first started wearing them a year ago. Her Rx expires 3-9-8 and w/o health insurance I can’t afford the lenses if I must pay for the exam . . Any feedback would be helpful… Thanks…

Does A .25d Astigmatism Ever Cause Problems?

I have some visual anomalies, and the optometrist only detects a slight .25D astigmatism in each eye. I was wondering are there ever cases where such a slight astigmatism really bothers a person .. more than it normally does to the general population? — Or perhaps something was missed in the 45minute-1hour dilated exam?
No glasses were prescribed, and she tried alot of lenses in the photoropter but my normal vision always beat it out on the eye chart. I read down to the 20/15 line with both eyes, without any correction. So she said other than the astigmatism my eyes were like hawks, and healthy.
If not, I wonder if I should seek neurological opinions.
Any fact, fiction, or anecdotal reply is appreciated. :)
