Experience With Contacts?

What are the pros and cons of contacts?
Is there anything I should know before I decide to take the plunge and buy them?
Are there special contacts for people with astigmatism like myself??

I Want To Have Lasik Surgery And I Am Scared. Please Tell Me If You Have The Experience With It.?

I have been wearing glasses even since I was a very young kid. I am highly nearsighted in my right eye and somewhat nearsighted in my left eye. I also have a high degree of astigmatism in my right eye. I never wore contact lenses. I want to lasik surgery because I don’t have to wear glasses again and have 20/20 vision but I am scared of the side effects. I am 22. Any advise on what to do. What do they do in lasik surgery? What is the procedure?

Does Anyone Have Experience With Toric Contact Lenses? Do You Like Them? Are They Easy To Wear?

I have been thinking about trying contacts again and due to an astigmatism the torics and rigid gas permeable are my only options. I already tried the RGP and didn’t like them. Opinions would be great. Thanks!

Does Anyone Know, From Personal Experience, Which Are The Best Contacts For People With Astigmatism?

Adaptation To Spectacles!!!!!a Horific Experience!!?

My prescription
Left Eye -0.5Cyl Axis 180
Right eye -0.5Cyl -0.25Sph Axis 160
I never had any problem with my eyes. Before leaving to a foreign country to do my masters i visited an optimetrist.
I wore these spectacles for 1month with terrible eye pain in the right eye.
It has been 3 months that i have stopped wearing those spectacles and i still get pain in my right eye. Infact my right eye can see shadow images.I amnot an astigmatat.
My question…………
1)Has the brain reacted differently to the spectacles???As i wore it continiously for 2weeks inspite of the pain???
2) A small correction like that has definately altered the light image entering my eye hence distorted the image being sent to the brain.
3)Could you please explain in brief why does adpatation to spectacles takes time for some people but in my case was a total disaster???
I am 23 years old and do not suffer from glucoma, astigmatism or myopia.
