Can Someone Explain What My Contact Lens Prescription Means?

I have astigmatism in my right eye, and on the package that my toric contact lens came in, it says -0.00 -3.75 x015.
What is my exact prescription? A girl I know says her prescription is -8. How can it be one number when mine is three?
Also, how bad is my astigmatism?

Yup.
One eye is different from the other.
You don’t always get a matched set. One changes at a different rate, one may have been injured, one just has better vision than the other. Some people have different colored eyes.
If you get glasses, you’re probably almost guaranteed better vision unless you put them on upside down. If you get contacts, you just have to make sure you put the right one in the right eye.

Could Someone Explain My Eyesight Prescription?

Ok I can see fine with both my eyes. However if i close my right and try to see with only my left eye it was generally blurry. Therefore I had my eyes tested at Vision express and here’s my prescription:
R: Sph: -0.75 Cyl: -0.25
L: Sph: -2.25 Cyl: -3.50
I realise I have bad astigmatism in my left eye. I’m only 17 and everyone seems to be treating me like a 90 year old blind bat. However I can see fine with both my eyes. I have a pair of glasses which took 2 weeks to come in due to the cyl on my left eye. Can anyone help and explain what these values mean. Could my left eye possibly improve? I’m only 17 and I feel like such a defensless outcast lol.
p.s. How much would it cost me for laser eye surgery and I know I can’t have it untill i’m over 18
