Naval Aviator Eyesight Question?

Hello, I am currently a freshman in college and I have applied for a NROTC scholarship for next year. I would love to be a naval aviator and I know I have what it takes. So let me get to the point, my eye sight is around 20/200 uncorrected with a slight astigmatism. With my contacts I have 20/20. If I have competitive grades, and are given the opportunity to get my wings from ROTC, will I be able to receive a waiver and get PRK eye surgery to correct my vision, or do you believe it would be smart to start looking else where. Thank you for your time.

How much? I have an astigmatism in one eye. I don’t need glasses to do day-to-day stuff but if I read for a while or try to read road signs far away I end up squinting. Do you think the focus of my images is off if I shoot without my glasses? Maybe what’s clear to me isn’t clear to everyone else?

How Do You Improve Your Eyesight? [namely Astigmatism]?

Is there a way you can improve Astigmatism? Ive reached 300 and I’ve been told that the corrective glasses and lenses are out of the question. I cant take surgery since I’m not even 15. I was wondering if there was a natural way of improving my eyesight.
Another random question, does astigmatism somehow make you cross-eyed?

It doesn’t look like it will work especially the left eye. It depends on the amount and sign of the astigmatism. If the sign of the astigmatism was also plus and the power is under +1.00 it will probably work.
Trouble is the right eye astigmatism appears to have been at least +1.50 and the left eye +3.50. which is too much and you probably will be disappointed in the vision.
The right eye should be no more than +2.50 not +2.75 and the left +1.50. not +2.75 to work.
If the sign is a minus it would be even worse.

Blurry Eyesight Improves With Eye Drops?

I have slight Astigmatism in both eyes, but I’ve always been able to see pretty clearly. However, I noticed that my eyesight from a distance has become a bit blurrier lately… and I noticed that it gets extremely sharp the moment I put some eye drops in. After blinking a bit it starts going back to “normal”
Has anyone had this experience? And if so, does anyone have any idea as to why this seems to happen?

I’m 20 years old and my eyesight is really bad (probably from all the years of video games, tv, and surfing the internet). I’ve decided to limit my time spent on these activities, but what I want to know is if there’s a way to improve your eyesight without the use of glasses or contacts?
Also, I’ve heard from someone that people with astigmatism can’t get that eye restoration surgery. Is that true? Not that I can afford it right now anyway, I just want to know my options later on.

How Did My Eyesight Get Better?

When I was 1 year old, I had poor, god-awful vision. I had to wear the thickest prescription that was available and the lenses had to be glass because plastic couldn’t be polished enough to be see through when that thick at the time. I was cross-eyed (this was corrected through laser surgery when I was 2 years old) and astigmatism. Through-out the years my eyesight slowly improved little by little. I was wearing glasses at age 18, but the prescription was off after wearing the eyeglasses for a year and I didn’t have insurance. I figured my eyesight wasn’t as horrible as it had once been so decided to do without glasses for awhile.
Awhile turned out to be six years. Today I went to the optomitrist and took an eye exam, the verdict came back: 20/20 in right eye with no imperfection and less than 20/25 in left eye. Since I am right eye dominate, glasses or any other corrective lenses were not reccommended.
After reading my history, the optomotrist wanted to know what I had done for m

Am I Losing My Eyesight?

I’m 25 yrs. old, & I’ve been wearing glasses all my life. Even though I had to wear bifocals when I was in elementary school, I was still able to read without my glasses. When I was 5, I had eye surgery. Laser surgery to correct my eye muscles. I was SEVERELY cross-eyed.
As a teen, an optometrist told me that I have high astigmatism in my eyes, but I was still able to read without my glasses.
2 yrs. ago, a doctor told me that the retina in my eyes are larger than normal, & that I’m @ risk for glaucoma, & that they need to monitor my eyes closely. Now, I struggle even WITH my glasses to see. That Dr. told me that I could lose my vision any day, without warning, if glaucoma is untreated. There was a lady who told me that 1 of my eyes are still crossed, but she said the surgery would be cosmetic & probably wouldn’t improve my vision. My eyes would just “look” straight.
My vision is not blurry, but even with these glasses (I can only get a new prescription every 2 yrs. for glasses under Medicaid, & I had them for over a year. I used to see very well with them, but my vision is vanishing.) Even with these glasses, my eyes just feel weak, & I still have to squint.
