I Need Information On Color Contact Lenses?

I go to the Wal-Mart Vision Center for my eye care. Right now I have glasses but I would really like to try contacts. If I got contacts it would be Freshlook Color Contacts because they are the cheapest and they have options for people with astigmatism (which I have). But, I still need to convince my mom to let me get them. I hate my glasses and they’re such a pain to try and not break and stuff when I’m not wearing them so contacts would be so much easier for me. If I my mom knew all the information and everything about contacts I’m sure she would let me get them. She’s already almost there as far as saying yes but I just need a little bit more to back me up. So, any information or any good points I could make to help me persuade her would be greatly appreciated!

I have really dark, almost black eyes but I do not wear glasses. I have 20/20 vision and do not have astigmatism or any other eye problem. However I want to try on colored contacts (last time I asked a question about what kind I should get, I was told to get FreshLook Color Contacts). In order to get these FreshLook Contacts, what process would I have to go to (ex. would I have to go to the eye doctor and get them specially adjusted to my eye or something? or would I just be able to go to a drugstore?). Details are appreciated!
THANKS FOR YOUR HELP

i forgot to ask my optometrist about this, but not too long ago, he gave me a paper with numbers saying “spherical: o.d.: -1.50, o.s.: -1.25″ “cylindrical: both sides -0.75″ i know for a fact that o.d. and o.s. means right and left, but i wonder, since i want to get contacts, are any of these numbers used for the degree of the contact lenses? or how else can i know what is my eye degree for eye contacts besides seeing an optometrist (i dont want to see my opt again because i have to pay for each time i go there for check ups =\).
