New To Using Contacts & They Irritate My Eyes?

Hi okay so I have really bad eye vision I have astigmatism so I see everything very blurry I went to my eye doctor today at noon & he gave me a free pair of contact lenses just to try for 3 days to see if they work, & I got home & tried to put them on but I couldn’t I have never worn contacts before only glasses & so that is why I was having a hard time, my eyes can’t take it anymore they are really hurting since I keep trying to put them in, okay well 6 hours role by & I have been trying to put them in & finally I get them in & trust me it wasn’t easy lol well anyway I have them on now & my eyes just are hurting like crazy & they are irritating me & the light just makes it worse although I can see way better & I like them it just is really irritating
What can it be? Is it because I am not used to it that is why it’s irritating me or is it because I have been trying to do it for 6 hours straight? Or could it be something else?

Can A Scratched Contact Irritate Your Eyes?

I was looking at my left contact lense cuz it was irritating my eye like hell, and if i take it out, its was soooo much better. i was looking really at it, and i saw two lines, a long line and a short tiny line. I called my eye doctor and he said the long line was just a mark that the contact lense is for astigmatism. I didnt ask him about the little line though, and now im starting to think thats it scratched. could it be that the contact is scratched?
