Are Contact Lenses Supposed To Make Everything Look Closer/bigger?

I used to wear contacts, for about a year and I eventually stoped because they gave me terrible migraines and headaches. Then I started wearing my glasses for about another year and I got absolutely no headaches or anything! But glasses are really annoying so I recently started wearing contacts again, and I’m starting to think that I got those terrible headaches and such because they make everything look closer and bigger. My eye doctor also said that is probably why. He gave me contact lenses to correct my astigmatism, but everything still looks the same. Is there any type of contacts or way that I can make everything look the way it does when I’m wearing my glasses? In other words, are contacts supposed to make everything look bigger/closer? Or are there contacts that make everything look normal, like when I’m wearing my glasses?

Do They Make Contacts That You Can Wear At Night For People With Astigmatism?

I’ve worn contacts for over two years now and I have the kind for astigmatism. I’ve only had one check up since then, they day I got them. I’m not supposed to leave them in overnight, but I’ve forgotten to take them out a few times. If I accidently fall asleep with them in, even if it’s ten minutes, when I wake up there very dry and harder to take out. My next appointment I would like to get ones you can wear overnight if they’re available.

I’m going to call my optometrist of course.
The thing is I want to see if anyone else here has had this problem too.
I have an astigmatism. So supposedly, contacts are BARELY reaching the point to allow people with astigmatisms to wear them. Well, supposedly my left eye has more of an astigmatism than my right eye. My left eye is the one that gets red though. It’s not like the whites of my eyes get red, just more blood vessels start to show. Is that suppose to be a normal for contact wearers? As long as it doesn’t hurt is it normal?

I got a new eye exam and new prescription glasses. I am not nearsided nor farsided, I only have an astigmatism. 5 years ago, my eye exam was: R: plano, -1.00, 180, L: plano, -0.75, 172. Now, the doctor tested me and came up with:
R: plo, -1.25, 176, Left: plo, -1.00, 168.
I know astigmatism can worsen and rotate, however, my new prescription makes things magnified (appear closer than they actually are). My old glasses did NOT do that. When I got my new glasses, I couldn’t even put my key into my car door! this is not just the fishbowl effect, it’s a physical distortion. I’m worried the CYL numbers are too strong and should be closer to what my old numbers were. I believe I still see 20/20 through my old glasses. I only want things to be clearer, not closer! Please tell me if there’s any justification to what’s happening. I complained to the doctor, but he didn’t retest me with my old glasses on and he said I would have to “get used it”. I’m in disagreement. Please help

Why Don’t They Make Coloured Toric Lenses (for Astigmatic Eyes)?

My optometrists for the past 5-6 years have always told me that coloured contact lenses are not available (and won’t be any time soon) for people with astigmatisms. Why?
Also, I came across this article and this company called FreshLook Contacts who claim that they sell coloured toric lenses. Does anyone know about them, whether their products are reliable, and whether I should speak to my optometrist about them?

Shouldn’t Eyeglasses Make Each Eye See Equally Well?

I just got new reading glasses yesterday. For years my left eye has been far-sighted and my right near-sighted, although not to the extent that I need glasses all the time–just for reading. The optician also told me one of my eyes has an astigmatism, but I don’t know which one.
Each time I have gotten glasses I have noticed that the left lens never, never gives me the same vision quality as the right lens. This has happened every single time I’ve had an exam and had to get new glasses. The right eye is GREAT and I’m amazed at how out-of-focus life really was for me. But the left eye, compared to the right, is definitely not as clear. In fact, there is barely a difference between wearing the glasses and not for that eye.
Is this part of a corrective process, and my left eye will be better after a while? I’d really appreciate any info. I am 31.

How Can I Make My Eyes Look Darker?

I can’t use contacts, because I’ve already got prescription contacts and my astigmatism is too bad for colored prescription lenses. I have no money for surgical implants. I do not wish to sit in front of a candle wishing my eyes darker.
Basically, I’ve got hazel green eyes and I’ve always wanted brown-black eyes like everyone in my family. Is there a makeup tip or something to make my eyes look as dark as I can get them to? Unless somebody knows of something that might actually make them darker without blinding me or trying to make me do voodoo?

Either I have a really strong astigmatism so I have to wear glasses all the time or I have astigmatism and poor eyesight.
I dunno.
Either way it has left me with wearing glasses all the time.
I’ve had them for years and now I’m tired of them. I want contacts.
Is this possible?
And how would I go about this?
I saw a commercial for 1-800 Contacts where they basically say something like, send in your prescription and they’ll get you contacts… I dunno.
Enlighten me, folks.

Does Wearing Glasses At A Young Age Make Your Eye Sight Worse?

My 8 year old daughter had an eye exam and was told she needs glasses. (astigmatism in right eye vision was 20/40? i think. left eye was 20/20 no astigmatism) She has never complained about not seeing or anything like that. I have been told by other people that wear glasses since they were children that wearing the glasses will make her get a stronger prescription every year. So by the time she is an adult she will be on a very strong prescription.
Sorry if it sounds complicated but if you know anything about this please comment. Thanks!
