I’ve Worn Contacts For About 5 Or 6 Years And Got New Ones But Now My Eyes Dry Up And I Cant Wear Them.

I have been wearing contacts for about 5 or 6 years but recently got a new eye prescription and they told me they longer made the contacts I wear. I have tried a few new brands out but they simply dry out my left eye (it is a toric lens for astigmatism). Could I have a problem with my eye or am I just unable to get used to a different material in the lens itself? I cannot keep it in my left eye for more than a half hour but my right eye (normal contact) feels fine. I have been interning in a datacenter this summer which uses a complex air conditioning system and the problem has gotten worse since being here. Any ideas?

I’m worried about the cost of disposables. But if disposables are are safer and better, what brands are good specifically among the monthly disposable contact lenses for astigmatism?

I Hate Astigmatism Contact Lenses! I Wanna Wear Regular Ones.?

I recently started wearing toric contact lenses for my astigmatism on my left eye and I hate it!! Every time I blink my vision gets blurry because the contact moves. I feel my vision was better using regular lenses. Is it normal for toric lenses to be like that? My vision is clear half the time and blurry the rest. Its really annoying. I’m thinking of just wearing my old regular lenses instead. What do you guys suggest?
Is There Corrective Eye Surgery For Floaters? The Ones I Have Seem To Be Getting Larger. I Have Astigmatism.?

Yes, there is surgery to remove floaters. It is called a vitrectomy. It is invasive and of course there is some risk, but it has about a 98% success rate. It must be performed by a retinal specialist but not all of them will do it. It involves removing the vitreous from your eye and replacing it with a saline solution which your eye rapidly replaces with its own clear aqueous fluid. The surgery itself has been around for almost 40 years but only recently used to treat severe cases of floaters. See the below links to learn more.
If I Get Contact Lenses, Will I Need To Get Toric Ones?

I have a slight astigmatism in each eye (-0.5 for dominant eye, -0.25 for other eye).
I’ve read that the only type of soft contact lenses that correct astigmatism are ‘toric’ ones (which are also fewer in choice and more expensive).
Do I need to get ‘toric’ ones – or can other types of soft lenses correct mild astigmatism also?
I have mild long-sightedness, +1 in each eye (most young people with my prescription only need glasses for reading, but for some reason my eyes get tired more easily and I get headaches/eyestrain – so I need to wear my glasses all the time).
I’m interested in getting contacts that I can leave in over-night and wear continuously for 1 or more weeks. What are these like, in your experience?
Thanks
