My optometrist prescribed toric lenses but i have different astigmatisms in each eye. i notice a difference in vision in each eye. it’s very uncomfortable and little blurry. i don’t have this issue with glasses. i know my tennis game suffers but i still don’t like glasses since i don’t have peripheral vision. my optometrist said this problems was inherent to toric lenses. does anyone have any advice? are there goggles that i can use for tennis maybe that will give me peripheral vision. any advice would be appreciated. note, surgery not an option

Options For Contacts When I Have An Astigmatism?

I have been attempting to wear contacts for the last 2 weeks. I have an astigmatism on my left eye. The contact for my right eye has fit perfectly as soon as I put it on. The contact for my left eye has not. First I tried Acuvue Oasys and then Acuvue Advance both for astigmatism. I couldn’t stand the Oasys because it felt as if I had something in my eye. The Advance are more comfortable but it is blurry on the left edge. My eye doctor said there is only 1 more kind I can try for the left eye and he doubts I will find them comfortable. Is there no hope? I just can’t believe there are only 3 different ones I can try. Is the blurriness normal?

What Other Options Are There Besides Toric Lenses Or Eye Laser Surgery?

I have been fitted with toric contact lenses from CIBA Vision, because I have astigmatism. However, the lenses are not at all comfortable. One is absolutely irritating. It seems I constantly have a double vision, like the lens is not fitting well. Also, my eyes are always dry, the lenses feel like they are shifting on my eyes. I was fitted with a lot of brands, including Acuevue. And now CIBA Vision. None seem to work. It looks like laser would be the only option left, because wearing glasses with a -5.50 and -7.00 strength is also not comfortable. Anybody have similar experiences and how did you cope/solve it?
