Naval Aviator Eyesight Question?

Hello, I am currently a freshman in college and I have applied for a NROTC scholarship for next year. I would love to be a naval aviator and I know I have what it takes. So let me get to the point, my eye sight is around 20/200 uncorrected with a slight astigmatism. With my contacts I have 20/20. If I have competitive grades, and are given the opportunity to get my wings from ROTC, will I be able to receive a waiver and get PRK eye surgery to correct my vision, or do you believe it would be smart to start looking else where. Question About Astigmatism?

I have astigmatism. It’s worse in my right eye. I am going to make a doctor’s appt. in the near future but does anyone know of anything I could do in the meantime to soothe my burning eyes?

New Contacts Question.?

Well im new to contacts and the doctor gave me Toric 55 contacts to try and i have sensitive eyes and they start making my eye itch after about 30 minutes. So i have tryed different solution and saline and rewetting drops but still have that itch to the outside corner of my eye that will start driving you crazy after awhile. Anyways he ordered them for me because i have astigmatism. So i was wondering whats a good quality top brand of lenses to try for people with astigmatism and i have bad eyes also. Anyways all help is very appreciated and thanks.

Question Concerning Eyes?

my persrcription is 5 in my right eye and 7 in my left.
plus i have astigmatism. my doctor also said i have nothing wrong with my eyes, no problems or anything.
am i good to get contact lenses?
does anybody have contacts with a prescription of 8 or higher?

Question About Eye Axis For Contacts?

My axis is 180 for both eyes, but they are an eyeglass prescription.
my contacts cylinder: -1.25 R -1.75 L ?axis?
I asked my doctor about my axis but he said it could be lower for contacts. I’m deciding whether to go for 170 or 180 for axis on the toric lenses.
I have astigmatism therefore I’m ordering toric lenses.

Omg, Yet Another Contact Question?

yes, i have a lot to ask about this. im still kinda new to this.
okay so i wear contacts, Purevison torics (for astigmatism) right and since school, i wear them from about 6 AM to 4 PM.
all is happy till around 12 or 1 because my right contact gets blurry and a little irritated, never my left, my left is perfectly fine all the time. so i don’t have rewetting drops so i take my contact out, rinse it and put it back in. okay, after like a little while it’s okay but when i get home like the blood vessels are more predominant and my eye hurts a bit i guess from lack of oxygen. but what i don’t get is that it is always the right contact and never my left. the left is like an angel. the right always gives me trouble and i wash my hands, dry them, be extra careful, clean the contacts and everything. what could possibly be wrong?
and also, my left eye is a little bit weaker than my right, when i first got the contacts i could see a bit better with the right. now, i see better with the left.

Contacts Question?

I went to the eye doctor again today and i got my prescription. my base curve is 8.3 and i really wanted to get freshlook colorblends, but the only base curve they have is 8.6. So now I am thinking about getting natural touch contacts. However, i have astigmatism in my left eye and they dont make lenses for astigmatism. So my question is, can i get one lens with prescription for my right eye and no prescription for my left eye (doesnt help my left eye vision)? Or would this damage my eyesight even more?

Question About Eyecare/medical Help For Uni Students?

Hi all,
I was just wondering if there’s any help at all for people with eye problems. I’m 18 and been off college for two years but I’m going to uni in september. My eyes are expensive- all the problems – normal prescription, astigmatism and prism and so contact lenses cost a bomb for me- £26 a month at minimum… Is there any help at all that I can get for costs..? Theres help for everything else except my two biggest problems; eyes & feet so I just don’t know what to do!
Any advice is really good so thanks in advance to anyone…

Target Optical Question?

I have been going to Lenscrafters but now they don’t take my insurance. Target is one of my choices. This is the thing…I have a really high prescription and astigmatism. So I have a special kind of contact lens that I wear and like to get my glasses as THIN as they can make them. Do you think that Target is comparable to Lenscrafters? I hope so because I want to use my insurance.
