Trying Out 2 Different Type Of Contact Lenses?

I had been wearing the Purevision Toric for a year. Now I am revisiting the optometrist for the better lenses for my eyes with higher Dk.
My doctor gave me 2 pairs of lenses to try out. One is Air Optix for Astigmatism and the other one is Acuvue Oasys for astigmatism.
Experience with Air Optix: These lenses are comfortable, they provide clear vision for me when they are settled but I feel burning in my eyes so many times in a day and they get blurry easily. Seem like my left eye is blurrier compared to the the right, is this lense incompatibility? or the power is not good enough.
With Oasys: cause my eyes to itch on the sides and the peripheral visions are bad (top left and right of the focus). One day, they are so hard to get out, they seem to stick to my eyes (like with some kind of adhesive, BC problem?) even that I had just but them on for 3 hours.
Which one would likely to be more compatible?

I googled it but I get all this different stuff and I don’t understand how my cornea being shaped a different way does anything. I wore glasses before but haven’t owned a pair in a year. I never had astigmatism before. I went to the eye doctor and she said I have it in both eyes. Can anyone explain what it is. All the information I get is different.
I Am Trying To Find A Comfortable Contact Lenses For Reading And Distance But I Also Have Astigmatism.?

There aren’t any contacts made to take care of both problems. Does anyone have the same problem, and have you found contacts that are comfortable? I have tried Bausch and Lomb multi focal and they made my eyes dry out to fast. I tried Accuvue for astigmatism with one contact for distance and one for reading and they were more comfortable and didn’t dry out as much, but I haven’t been able to adjust to the different vision in both eyes. Thanks for any suggestions!

Hi,
I am using specs from the last 9-10 months(not continous though) for the cylindrical power (astigmatism)
sph cyl axis
R -0.50 -1.50 70
L -0.50 -1.25 100
and recently checked with an optometrist on March of 2007
I asked him that I am interested to have the contact lens since I am not comfortable using those specs. He told he could do that since my cornea is not flat and won’t be having any problem with the fitting of the lens.
He almost tried Accuvue advance for Astigmatism,Bausch and lomb , cooper vision (if iam not wrong) soft contact lens and nothing gave me 100% satisfaction since I find them convenient wearing for some time and in a sec I find everything is blurred for few secs and again normal. Mostly having problem when seeing the computer for a few mins. and when I am in the A/C while shopping in a mall or so.Do I need toseeother doct.
Please suggest.
I Am Trying To Order Glasses Online As Well And The Rx That My Doctor Sent To Me Says: R -5.50 -25 X 83?

How do I read this? The clearly-contacts site is asking for the SPH which is -5.50 but then it is asking for the CYL which from what I understand is the astigmatism correction but it looks like my doctor is saying it is -25?? It only goes up to -3.75…..Then it also asks for a PD – is that the distance between my eyes??
