How Much Are Contact Lenses Without Insurance…?

I’m 18 years old, I’ll be 19 at the end of this month. When I turn 19 my insurance is switching. I’ll be going from NC Health Choice to Adult Medicaid (I believe its Medicaid and not Medicare). I know that Medicaid (or Medicare) doesn’t cover contact lenses. I just recently switched from glasses to contacts over Thanksgiving. I’m still wearing the trial lenses (this is my 2nd pair) because the first pair didn’t adjust well to my eyes. I have another check-up on December 18th, and hopefully the doctor will write me out a prescription then, so I can at least get a few months worth of contacts.
Anyways, my questions is, roughly how much will contacts cost me without an insurance? I’ve already had the exam and everything. I just need to know the cost of the contacts themselves. I do have astigmatism in one eye, but the doctor currently has me using a contact that’s not for astigmatism correction because of how my eyes reacted to the first pair of lenses I had.
How To Train Yourself To Put In Contacts Without Blinking Or Moving Eye!?

I’m 13 (turn 14 in two weeks) and I just got contacts two days ago. I was able to get one in but only because she put the numbing solution in my eye. Same thing with taking them out. After that, I haven’t even gotten close to it. I’ve tried looking up and putting them in, and even putting them on top of my closed eye and opening my eye really fast to make them drop in but I still can’t get it. Is there 1) a way to train my eye so that I don’t blink or move my eyeball? and 2) an easy way that I can put them in. I start camp next week and I want to have the hang of it by the birthday. My dad paid about $70 something dollars for my contacts (astigmatism in my right eye) and their only a trial pair. I need help!!!!

I Look Ugly With My Glasses On And I Can’t Get Contacts, Can’t See A Thing Without My Glasses, Any Ideas?

I have very severe astigmatism and I can’t wear contacts because there is somethign wrong with my eyes so contacts scratch my cornea.
Without my glasses I look really cute, and it’s not like I hate my frames or anything, they look cute, but on me they look ugly. Laser eye surgery is not an option, it is really expensive and injsureance doesn’t cover it.
Can Someone With Astigmatism Wear Normal Lenses Without Damaging Their Eyes ?

There was a similar question to this but it didn’t answer what I want to know. I want to wear costume contacts for a special event, but I don’t want to spend hundreds of dollars for one pair of custom torics. I know that torics are weighted so the lenses do not shift and you can see better with them, but are they actually shaped different from normal lenses to fit eyes with astigmatism? In this case I don’t care if the normal lenses let me see clearly. I just want to know if the shape of the normal lenses would damage my eyes. Thank you.
Can You Have Astigmatism Without Having Vision Problems (nearsightedness / Farsightedness)?

I have really bad astigmatism, and it’s worsened 70% in one year. I’m also farsighted. The doctor fitted me with SO many different pairs of contacts for astigmatism, and they were all painful and didn’t fit properly. (He said it was because my eyes were different?) Right now, I wear Acuvue soft contacts, so I’m wondering if I can get glasses to go over the contacts (just to wear in school, not all the time)? Personally, I don’t think my astigmatism is horrible, because I can still see (with Acuvue contacts), but the doctor thinks I should do something about it.
Are There Any One Using Toric Contacts And Feeling Totally Comfortable Without Any Blurriness Or Out Of Focus?

when used for long hrs for reading the computer. Please give suggestions what type of contact lens should be considered.
My Prescription is below:
Sphere Cylinder Axis
OD -1.50 +1.00 013
OS -1.75 +1.75 155
I was trying for toric contacts and tried
1.accuvue advance for astigmatism(rotating and not convenient too big for my eye it seems)
2.vertex toric
3.soflens66 toric
4.biomedics toric
and now 5.purevision torics( BC 8.7 Dia 14.0mm)
the problem is when I focus on the objects, I feel blurred for a sec and again the vision comes back but its happening very frequently.
And also when reading on the computer and in the air-conditioner , I feel more discomfort with the lens.May be because of the lens rotation.
If they are toric lens users who feel good using them ,any Suggestions on these. Is it better to leave the lens and go for glasses.Serious answers are appreciated.Toric Lens users PLEASE ADVICE.

I just got a prescription for glasses because I have a mild astigmatism in both my eyes. Does that mean I’m nearsighted as well because distances are blurry for me? When I wear my glasses to read I get kind of dizzy – should I just use them for distances?
