Well, I had some issues getting into contacts again after having DD and I just went back to try again last Thursday and I mentioned my previous problem about not being able to see but for maybe less than an hour before they got blurry and uncomfortable. I tried O2 Optix last time and this is my second time and I’m still very uncomfortable. I’m positive that I have dry eye because my eyes are constantly dry with or without contacts and it’s really a problem for me. However, my optometrist refuses to even consider the possibility of my having dry eye because of my age (19). He also won’t treat me for the (borderline) astigmatism in my left eye. He thinks I am simply too OCD. I’ve heard about all the problems with OPTIX, but has anyone else had a similar experience, and if so, which brand of lenses did you feel more comfortable with?

I started using optix 2 years ago. I had really dry eye and my old acuvue contacts would shift constantly when I drove. I switched to optix and at first they were great. Now, by the end of the day, My eyes are so dry, they burn and itch. Also, when I try to take them out, they seem stuck to my eye. I don’t leave them in when I sleep, even though they’re approved by the FDA to do so. I’m not sure what to switch to at this point. I empathize with you. I’m considering the Oasys.
I’m so sad for you b/c of your awful experience with Optix. I truly empathize with you and I believe your story. I am wearing Optix right now and I have not had any trouble. As a matter of fact, they are a step up for me from what I was wearing and I thus far have no complaints.
If u really have very dry eyes, then u shdn’t be wearing lenses at all. This will only worster the dryness.
