Would Eye Doctor Give Me Contact Lenses?

wear weak plus glasses of +0.75d with -0.5 astigmatism and I find they make things sharper at all distances. Some days at home I do wear them all day as it prevents my eyes from feeling really tired and sleepy. They do make a difference and I don’t like wearing glasses in front of people. I would like to wear contact lenses but wonder wether it is worth making appointment as I do not know if they would prescribe them for a low prescription. Any advice would be appreciated guys????
If they make them, they will rx them. They want to make money.
You wouldn’t be able to get as good vision with contacts as with glasses.
That – 0.50 astigmatism correction you have would be the problem.It isn’t strong enough for contacts to correct…(contacts for astigmatism start at – 0.75)…but it is too strong to leave uncorrected, so glasses are your only option until you need a stronger prescription.
